Над 430 000 снимки от над 200 държави в Sony World Photography Awards 2026
Организаторите на Sony World Photography Awards обявиха победителите и кратките списъци в 10-те категории на Open конкурса за 2026 г. Конкурсът отличава най-добрите единични фотографии, заснети през 2025 г., като акцентира върху силата на отделното изображение да разказва история и да провокира въображението.
Тази година в различните категории на наградите са подадени над 430 000 изображения от повече от 200 държави и територии. Open Photographer of the Year ще бъде обявен на официална церемония в Лондон на 16 април 2026 г. Победителят ще получи парична награда от 5000 щатски долара и фотографска техника на Sony.
Сред тазгодишните победители в Open категориите са Markus Naarttijärvi (Швеция) в категория „Архитектура“, Siavosh Ejlali (Иран) в „Creative“, J Fritz Rumpf (САЩ) в „Landscape“, Vanta Coda III (САЩ) в „Lifestyle“, Franklin Littlefield (САЩ) в „Motion“, Klaus Hellmich (Германия) в „Natural World & Wildlife“, Robby Ogilvie (Великобритания) в „Object“, Elle Leontiev (Австралия) в „Portraiture“, Giulia Pissagroia (Италия) в „Street Photography“ и Megumi Murakami (Япония) в „Travel“.

Image Description: In this image the photographer describes how the black plastic covering most of the woman’s face is a sign of ‘dark thoughts and the imposition of beliefs’, while the red balloon falling to the ground could be ‘her lost hope’. The background evokes Iranian urban society, which has been the setting for the recent demonstrations involving Iranian women, noting that ‘the red clothes and lips are the bloody price that women have paid.’

Image Name: The Barefoot Volcanologist
Year: 2026
Image Description: On the ash plains of Mount Yasur, on the island of Tanna, Vanuatu, Phillip, an internationally recognised, self-taught volcanologist, stands barefoot atop a volcanic rock bomb. Wearing a lava-protection suit gifted to him by some visiting researchers, the volcano smoulders behind him, sending a plume of gas and sulphur into the sky. Phillip grew up beneath the active volcano, and this portrait captures him in his element.

Конкурсът тази година е оценяван от Ruby Rees-Sheridan, асистент-куратор по фотография в National Portrait Gallery, Великобритания.
Избрани печеливши и номинирани фотографии ще бъдат представени в рамките на изложба в Somerset House в Лондон в периода 17 април – 4 май 2026 г., след което експозицията ще гостува и на други локации.
Големите победители в категориите Student, Youth, Open и Professional ще бъдат обявени на 16 април 2026 г.
